Carcinoid Syndrome Announcement

Endo Pharmaceuticals Solutions, Inc. is currently recruiting participants of ages 18 years to 80 years old for a clinical trial. The study is an Open Label Study to evaluate the Pharmacokinetics, Efficacy and Safety of Two Doses of an Octreotide Implant in Patients with Carcinoid Syndrome. The study will evaluate an octreotide implant for a period of 9 months. To be considered for this study you must meet the eligibility criteria:

Inclusion Criteria:
  • histological confirmed tumor,
  • documented evidence of carcinoid syndrome,
  • previous positive octreotide scan, and
  • received stable doses of octreotide injections.

Exclusion Criteria:
  • poorly differentiated or high grade neuroendocrine tumor,
  • significant cardiovascular, hepatic, renal or other diseases.

PAGOCLONE

Endo Pharmaceuticals has completed the initial analyses of the data from an ongoing pagoclone study (IP456-041). Although the study did not meet its pre-specified criteria for success, there were some trends of interest that Endo will look at more closely by conducting additional analyses of the data. The last part of this study will continue until completion late this year. A second active pagoclone study (IP456-039) will be closed in an orderly manner over the next several months. Patients participating in that study will be encouraged to discuss other treatment options with their physicians.
