David P. Holveck is President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Endo. Prior to joining Endo in April 2008, Mr. Holveck was President of Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation and Vice President, Corporate Development of Johnson & Johnson, a diversified healthcare company, since 2004. Mr. Holveck joined Johnson & Johnson as a Company Group Chairman in 1999, following the acquisition of Centocor, Inc., a biotechnology company, by Johnson & Johnson. Mr. Holveck was Chief Executive Officer of Centocor, Inc. at the time of the acquisition. Mr. Holveck joined Centocor in 1983 and progressed through various executive positions. In 1992, he assumed the role of President and Chief Operating Officer and later that year was named President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Centocor, he had held positions at General Electric Company, Corning Glass Works and Abbott Laboratories. Mr. Holveck is a member of the Board of Trustees for The Fund for West Chester University, as well as the Board of Directors of the Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), the University City Science Center, and the Kimmel Center. Mr. Holveck’s knowledge of the Company, its operations and the evolving healthcare environment is valuable to the Board of Directors in evaluating and directing the Company’s future. Through his service on the boards of directors of other organizations as well as his prior senior executive positions at global pharmaceutical and healthcare product companies, Mr. Holveck has developed extensive knowledge of operational leadership, risk oversight and management, as well as the pharmaceutical and device industries.
Anthony P. Bihl III joined Endo as Group President in June 2011 with the acquisition of American Medical Systems, Inc, (AMS), a medical device company serving urologists, urogynecologists, and gynecologists worldwide. Mr. Bihl was named President and Chief Executive Officer of AMS in April 2008. Prior to joining AMS, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Medical Solutions Diagnostics from January to November 2007, after its acquisition of Bayer Diagnostics, a division of Bayer HealthCare LLC, an operating unit of Bayer AG. Mr. Bihl had joined Bayer Diagnostics in January 2000, as Vice President of Finance and Administration for its’ Laboratory Testing Business unit, and progressed through various executive positions before being named President of Bayer Diagnostics in September 2004. Previously, he served as Vice President of Medical Instrument Manufacturing at Sterling Diagnostic Imaging, Inc. from early 1997 through January 2000. Prior to joining Sterling, Mr. Bihl held various managerial positions of increasing responsibility within finance, operations, and service in the medical diagnostics, diagnostics imaging and biotechnology businesses, during his 20 years at E.I DuPont de Nemours. Mr. Bihl serves on the Board of Directors of Spectral Diagnostics, Inc. He earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University.
Larry Cunningham joined Endo Pharmaceuticals in May
2008 as Senior Vice President, Human Resources. In this role he leads all aspects
of human resources in enabling the development and growth of Endo. Prior to joining
Endo, Mr. Cunningham led Johnson & Johnson’s global recruiting and talent acquisition
organization. Mr. Cunningham also has extensive business-based human resources leadership
experience. He was Vice President, Human Resources, for DePuy, Inc., a wholly owned
subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, which he joined following the acquisition of Centocor,
where he was Vice President, Human Resources. Prior to joining Centocor, Mr. Cunningham
gained extensive domestic and international experience in human resources management
and organization development at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer (now Sanofi-Aventis) and Corning
Clinical Laboratories (now Quest Diagnostics). Mr. Cunningham holds a B.A. in Labor
Studies from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science in Business
Administration from Temple University.
Ivan Gergel, M.D., was appointed Executive Vice President,
Research & Development and Chief Scientific Officer in April 2008. Prior to joining Endo, Dr. Gergel was Senior Vice President of Scientific Affairs and President of the Forest Research Institute
of Forest Laboratories Inc. Prior to that, Dr. Gergel served as Vice President and
Chief Medical Officer at Forest and Executive Vice President of the Forest Research
Institute. He joined Forest in 1998 as Executive Director of Clinical Research following
nine years at SmithKline Beecham, and was named Vice President of Clinical Development
and Clinical Affairs in 1999. Dr. Gergel received his M.D. from the Royal Free Medical
School of the University of London and an MBA from the Wharton School. Dr. Gergel
is a member of the Board of Directors of Pennsylvania BIO, a member of PhRMA’ s
Scientific and Regulatory Executive Committee as well as a member of the Board of
Directors of the PhRMA Foundation.
Kelly Huang, Ph.D., joined Endo in August 2011 as President of HealthTronics, Inc., a healthcare services and medical devices company focused primarily in urology. Dr. Huang brings extensive experience leading global businesses through the integration of scientific, consumer, and professional insights to create value by putting the customer and patient at the center. Prior to joining Endo, Dr. Huang held the position of Vice President of Research & Development and was a corporate officer of Neutrogena Corporation, a Johnson & Johnson company. Prior to Neutrogena in 2009, as Vice President with Johnson & Johnson’s Development Corporation since 2006, Dr. Huang established and headed an Internal Venture to develop a transformational delivery platform based on genetic engineering for discovery and design of novel protein. In addition, he held leadership positions within Johnson & Johnson’s Consumer business, which included spending two years in Paris, France, which drove innovation globally. He obtained his Doctorate and Masters degrees in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University in California. He also holds a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, with a minor in Chemistry, from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Denise Hudson joined Endo Pharmaceuticals in March 2011 as the Senior Vice President, Enterprise Quality and Supply Chain. Ms. Hudson brings over 20 years of pharmaceutical supply chain experience to Endo, with expertise in redesigning and improving organizational processes for maximum productivity. Prior to joining at Endo, Ms. Hudson was Senior Vice President of Global Supply Chain and Quality for Shire Pharmaceuticals, where she developed and executed global supply chain strategies resulting in increased organizational performance and flexibility. Ms. Hudson has served in a variety of leadership positions, including Vice President of Operations with Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation and Vice President of Process Excellence Worldwide Pharmaceuticals with Johnson & Johnson Worldwide Pharmaceuticals Group as well as a number of supply chain management positions at other pharmaceutical companies. Ms. Hudson holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a Masters in Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Alan G. Levin was appointed Executive Vice President
and Chief Financial Officer in June 2009. Prior to joining Endo, Mr. Levin worked
with Texas Pacific Group, a leading private equity firm, and one of their start-up
investments in Emerging Markets. Before that, he was Senior Vice President & Chief
Financial Officer of Pfizer, Inc. where he worked for 20 years in a variety of executive
positions of increasing responsibility, including Treasurer and Senior Vice President
of Finance & Strategic Management for the company’s research and development organization.
He received a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and a master’s degree
from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Mr. Levin is a certified public
accountant and an Editorial Advisor for the Journal of Accountancy. He is a member
of the Advisory Board of Celtic Therapeutics, a private equity fund.
Caroline B. Manogue has served as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary since 2004. Prior to joining Endo in 2000 as Endo’s Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, she practiced law in the New York office of the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where she specialized in mergers & acquisitions, securities and corporate law. At Endo, she is responsible for all aspects of the company’s legal function, including securities law, litigation, government affairs, intellectual property and commercial law, as well as overseeing compliance with current laws and existing pharmaceutical company guidelines relating to, among other things, clinical, sales and marketing practices. In her capacity as Secretary, she is responsible for corporate governance matters and reports directly to the Board of Directors. Ms. Manogue received her J.D. from Fordham Law School and her B.A. cum laude from Middlebury College. She is the 2011-2012 Chairperson of the PhRMA Law Section and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Healthcare Institute of New Jersey (“HINJ”) and a member of HINJ’s Finance and Audit Committee.
Julie H. McHugh was appointed Chief Operating Officer in March 2010. Prior to joining Endo, Ms. McHugh was the CEO of Nora Therapeutics, Inc., a venture capital-backed biotech company focused on the treatment of infertility disorders. Prior to joining Nora Therapeutics, she was Company Group Chairman for Johnson & Johnson's Worldwide Virology Business Unit, which included oversight of a R&D portfolio including compounds for HIV, Hepatitis C, and Tuberculosis. Prior to her role as Company Group Chairman, Ms. McHugh was President of Centocor, Inc. a J&J subsidiary. Ms. McHugh received a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University and her masters of business administration degree from St. Joseph’s University. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Viro Pharma Inc., the Board of Directors of the Biotechnology Organization (BIO), the Board of Directors of the New England Healthcare Institute (NEHI), the Board of Visitors for the Smeal College of Business of the Pennsylvania State University, and the Board of Directors for the Nathaniel Adamczyk Foundation. She is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Industry Organization.
Jon Smollen joined Endo Pharmaceuticals in August 2011 as Senior Vice President, Compliance and Business Practices. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic direction and operations of Endo’s corporate compliance program. Mr. Smollen previously was Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer for Siemens Healthcare USA with responsibility for its laboratory diagnostic and diagnostic imaging businesses in the U.S. Prior to Siemens, Mr. Smollen held a number of leadership positions at Wyeth including Vice President, Commercial Excellence and Compliance and Chief Privacy Officer and established several global programs to strategically address existing and emerging industry requirements. Prior to Wyeth, Mr. Smollen was an Attorney Advisor to Federal Trade Commissioner Thomas B. Leary and was in private practice in Washington, D.C. He also served as a federal judicial clerk. He holds a B.A. from Georgetown University, an M.A. in International Relations from Columbia University and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
