Making a Difference by Giving
Back
Community service at Endo is a living, breathing measure of how we make a difference. It goes beyond classic corporate giving, beyond the notion of slicing a charitable budget into equal pieces of pie. It’s about combining grassroots employee involvement with strong organizational support to make things happen. We know that by banding together as a community within Endo, we can create a positive impact on the greater communities where we live and work.
Here are just a few examples of the difference we’re making together:
Special Needs
- An employee spearheads involvement in the Special Olympics and receives broad-based support from Endo.
Employees volunteer at the Special Olympics’ “Healthy Athletes” booths at the Summer Games and Fall Festival.
- A group of employees, known as Team Endo, bikes to raise $23,534 for multiple sclerosis research in two charity fundraising events..
Disaster Relief
- Endo employees organize a Katrina relief effort and spend a week rehabilitating the ancestral home
of a 74-year-old jazz musician. The company offers the group paid leave and support, and other employees donate frequent flier miles to the effort.
Community Outreach
- High school students visit Endo for the day, learning about careers in business and gaining firsthand
exposure to the working world.
- Teams of Endo employees volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, building homes for local low-income families.
- Endo offers fundraising drives, a “virtual” food bank, and fun, on-site programs that enable
employees to get involved right from their desks.
Patient Support
- Endo sponsors the annual Triumph Dinner in support of the National Pain Foundation, and employees
volunteer their time for the event.
- An Endo employee helps introduce the Cancer Screening, Treatment and Survivorship Act of 2007 to
both the U.S House and Senate.
In addition to these and many other similar efforts, Endo offers an employee Matching Gifts Program, matching employee donations to charitable organizations dollar-for-dollar, up to $500 per year. It’s just one more way Endo partners with employees to make a difference in our communities.
