Independent Medical Education and Research Grants

Independent Medical Education

Endo Independent Medical Education (IME) Grants provide funding in the form of unrestricted grants to support Independent Medical Educational and Fellowship Programs for U.S. healthcare professionals. This grant may also support independent accredited programs, and represents one aspect of Endo’s commitment to improving patient health by providing support to educational initiatives for healthcare professionals that meet our standards of quality and compliance.

IME support shall not be granted with an intent to promote Endo products or otherwise to reward past or influence current or future prescribing, purchasing volume, or formulary treatment of an Endo product. Grants may never be offered for any commercial purpose. Educational programs must present multiple treatment options as dictated by standard of care and not focus exclusively on one approach.

Robust standards and policies assure that Endo IME Grants may only be provided in support of an educational initiative which is organized and conducted completely independent of influence from Endo and its representatives and/or agents. All Endo-supported IME activities must:

  • be non-promotional in tone/nature
  • provide information that is fair and balanced
  • be accurate and not misleading
  • apply all applicable disclosures regarding Endo funding during the educational activity

Investigator Initiated Research

Endo is committed to advancing medical and scientific knowledge about our therapies for improving patient care through support of Investigator Initiated Research Grants.

This program is open to all U.S. physicians, researchers and institutions who are interested in conducting their own clinical and basic science studies that address important medical and scientific questions related to our products and research area of interest.

Endo may provide support in the form of study drug and/or financial support in response to unsolicited, independent research proposals that meet our standards of quality and compliance.

Investigator initiated research is conducted independent of Endo. The Investigator or the institution (academic, private, or government) serves as the Sponsor of the research and is responsible for study conception, design, conduct, data handling, data analysis/interpretation, subsequent reporting/publication and ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory responsibilities of the studies as defined by all applicable laws and regulations.

These grant proposals are reviewed by a committee of Endo’s medical and scientific personnel within Research and Development. Decisions for support are strictly based on scientific merit, feasibility, safety, legal and ethical considerations, alignment with Endo’s research area of interest and availability of resources and funds. Endo support for any Independent Investigator Initiated Research Grants in no way implies any obligation toward, and is not in any way connected to, the recommendation or prescribing of Endo products.
